Abstract

National Law 27,642: “Promotion of Healthy Eating”, alerts consumers about critical nutrients that, ingested in excess, cause damage to health.

This regulation establishes front labeling on foods packaged in the absence of consumers, declaring the content of critical nutrients when they exceed the cut-off points specified in the Legislation.

However, foods sold by weight are exempt from this law because they are marketed in a non-industrialized manner.

The objective is to analyze the differential labeling in terms of the content of critical nutrients of sweet bakery products for mass consumption covered by Law 27,642 and their counterparts not covered by weight.

From the sampling, the complete analysis of the nutritional profile was carried out.

In conclusion, industrially packaged products and their counterparts sold by weight have similar nutritional characteristics, which would imply that the latter carry labeling that indicates the corresponding excesses, which indicates unfair competition between industrialized products and retail products. weight, in addition to the constant misinformation regarding nutritional values.
