Peer review process

All the manuscripts submitted to Revista FCA are peer-reviewed through a double-blind peer review process. The identities of ‘Reviewers' and Authors’ are kept hidden from each other.

Manuscripts are peer-reviewed following this workflow:

Initial evaluation: First, each manuscript is assessed if it fulfils the authors’ guidelines and if its topic and content are suitable for consideration. Then, the Assistant Editors check language, originality and plagiarism.

Manuscripts that do not meet minimum criteria are returned to the authors within two weeks of receipt. Authors could solve the issues requested or submit the manuscript to a more appropriate journal.

Peer review: Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are assigned to a Section Associate Editor, who checks scientific quality of the manuscripts. Associate Editors can either decline the manuscript or select referees based on their expertise.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers of wide national and international expertise who are asked to complete their reviews within the following three weeks.

Authors should propose up to five reviewers, providing their first and last names, affiliations, and contact email addresses. Reviewers with potential conflicts of interest should not be suggested.

Editorial Recommendation: Based on the referees' comments and recommendations, the Associate Editor of each section makes a recommendation decision about the manuscript.

Editorial decision: The Editor-in-Chief communicates the decision to the authors, along with Associate Editor and reviewers' reports. The editorial decisions may be "Accepted", "Major Revision", "Minor revision", or "Rejected".

If a revised manuscript should be resubmitted to the journal, the deadline is indicated. For Major Revision, the revised manuscript will be returned to the original reviewers for a second round of evaluation.

Edition of articles: Accepted manuscripts will be edited and subject to editorial amendment to suit the journal style. Afterward, a PDF file will be sent back to the lead author for revision.
