Vocational Orientation with Students with Disabilities: Voices of Accompanying Professionals

The article presents research results on the challenges faced by professionals from the Support and Effective Access to Higher Education Program, when providing vocational guidance to students with disabilities in establishments in La Araucanía, Chile. The objective was to strengthen the accompaniment practices for the construction of the students' life project, through collaborative and reflective strategies. The research was qualitative, with the team of professionals participating in focus groups with input from their students’ interviews, and what was discussed was examined through a content analysis. The results show that administrative and bureaucratic aspects would have a negative impact. The conclusions allow us to support the urgency of advancing in education and training that allow the contextualization of support.
