Jan van Ruusbroec’s Vanden Kerstenen Ghelove (About Christian Faith) (translation)

Abstract

This article presents the translation of a small catechetical treatise written by Jan van Ruusbroec that collects and summarizes the doctrinal foundations developed in the rest of his work, mostly about the ascetic and mystical life in the fourteenth century. This treaty based on the Thomistic doctrine and biblical images has been listed between the literary masterpiece in medieval prose.
