The The Truth in Agustin from Hiponia
Keywords:
Christendom, Romanity, Paganism, Augustine of HippoAbstract
The aim of this study is to address the concept of truth in the thought of Saint Augustine of Hippo from a philosophical and theological perspective, as well as to analyse the pastoral work he carried out within the sociocultural context of his time. To this end, the primary sources consulted include some of the author's literary works, and historiographical studies related to his time and place.
Particular emphasis has been placed on the issue of truth, as it served as the guiding principle of his thought, writings, and life. Furthermore, his orientation toward truth significantly impacted the shaping of the Christian narrative of the Roman-pagan world and strengthened the community of believers within the Christian Church.
